Is the SOAR Method safe?
Yes. The SOAR Method was designed with back and neck safety in mind. As with any exercise program, use caution and if any segment causes you pain ease up and wait for the next one. Dr. Marr is able to customize the program for her patients, but if you're using the DVD, it's up to you to skip exercises that cause pain and find the ones that are best for your body. And don't worry, it gets easier the more you practice!

Will the SOAR Method help me lose weight?
No. The only way to lose weight is to reduce calories and increase aerobic exercise, which isn't part of the SOAR Method. Examples of aerobic exercise are running, dancing, swimming, and walking.   The SOAR Method stretches and strengthens every major muscle group in the body, so it's a great way to warm up before exercising. It's also a great way to improve your strength, and a strong body is a healthy body!

How is it different from other programs?
The SOAR Method is like nothing else on the market. Nowhere else will you find a program that improves posture, targets every major muscle group and joint in the body and, most importantly, is safe for the neck and back. In fact, many of Dr. Marr's patients came to see her after injuring themselves in a yoga, pilates or other exercise class!

Why do I need the exercise ball?
The exercise ball is a crucial part of the SOAR Method, and many of the exercises require it. The ball helps improve balance and allows for low-impact
exercises, which are safer for the back and neck. Exercising on the ball also improves your posture by challenging your mind and body to work with the movement of a ball.  Better balance means fewer falls and injuries. To purchase a ball, click here.
